Our project will deliver the following for digital notaries, system integrators and application software developers to develop their services and applications. The Electronic Time-Stamping platform will be available to all interested parties.

Timestamping platform system architecture
The components in the system are defined. These include cryptographic algorithms, communication protocols and data exchange format. The interactions between various components are also identified.

Application programming interface (API) standards
API is the interface by which an application program accesses operating system and other services. The API, which allows system developers to programmatically access the timestamping service, is a core component in the platform. We deliberately standardize the API so that developers can use their tools to integrate the timestamping functionality into their application systems.

Software libraries
Reference libraries implementing the API would be provided on various platforms. Developers can make use of these libraries to test or integrate the timestamping functionality into their applications.

Prototype Time-Stamping Authority (TSA)
A prototype TSA will be set up to demonstrate the technology and test the Electronic Time-Stamping platform. With this prototype TSA, application developers can try integrating their applications with Electronic Time-Stamping. It also serves as an illustrating tool for educating the public about the concept of Electronic Time-Stamping.

Publication of concerned technologies developed in the project
Publications will be in the forms of technical documentation, progress reports and press release. People can then have a grasp of the technology and our project progress.

Seminars and presentations
We will participate in the TechWorld 2002 Business Matching Programme, which is organized by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, to introduce and present our ideas on Electronic Time-Stamping and the project to interested parties. We will also join other seminars to offer presentations on Electronic Time-Stamping when appropriate.

Applications of the technology in collaborating organizations
Devising service models for applying Electronic Time-Stamping in different areas and various scenarios is one of our tasks. Upon completion of the project, we will advise and assist collaborating organizations on the integration and application of Electronic Time-Stamping to their business.
